Sterling silver ring Soviet Uk size O
About this piece
A striking geometric ring in sterling silver, featuring a bold shield-shaped face with an interlocking lattice or net pattern worked in openwork. The design is distinctly modernist, characteristic of Soviet jewellery from the mid-to-late twentieth century, when spare, graphic forms were favoured over ornament. The broad, tapered shoulders of the band give it presence and stability on the hand.
In UK size O, the ring shows excellent condition with only light surface wear consistent with gentle, occasional wear over decades. The silver retains good lustre and the openwork detail is crisp and clean. A wonderful example of Soviet craftsmanship and design—bold enough to make a statement, understated enough to pair with almost anything.
