Chain necklace, 80s style, gold-plated
About this piece
A substantial chain necklace in gold-plated base metal, built from rectangular links in a classic ladder or box pattern characteristic of 1980s costume jewellery. The links are precisely engineered and closely fitted, creating a structured, sculptural neckline that sits comfortably against the skin. The clasp is a simple barrel-type hook-and-eye, typical of the era and practical for daily wear.
The gold plating shows honest patina consistent with vintage wear — some surface scratching and tonal variation visible on the clasp and along the length — but the overall structure remains sound and the colour warm and appealing. This is a piece made to last, and it has. Care for it by wiping with a soft cloth and storing away from moisture; gentle cleaning with a damp cloth will restore a little lustre if needed.
