Silver ring, Soviet period, 1990s. Size O
About this piece
A striking Soviet-era ring in silver, featuring a bold two-tone design that blends polished and dark oxidised finishes. The face presents a rectangular panel of textured silver set within a frame, flanked by sweeping Art Nouveau–inspired foliate motifs executed in blackened silver. The contrast between the bright and darkened metal creates a dramatic, sculptural effect typical of late Soviet jewellery design.
In UK size O, the ring carries the confident proportions of its period and sits comfortably on the hand. The metalwork shows the hand-finished quality characteristic of Soviet silversmithing, with its deliberate patination and fluid decorative detail. Surface wear is minimal; the piece remains in excellent condition with only light signs of age. We recommend occasional gentle cleaning with a soft cloth to maintain the oxidised finish, which is integral to the design.
