Incredible vintage sterling silver earth natural garnet
About this piece
These are handsome drop earrings built from sterling silver, each suspending a smooth oval cabochon of deep red garnet within an ornate beaded border frame. The setting catches light beautifully, with delicate dot-and-wire detailing around the perimeter and small lobes at cardinal points that give the frame an almost jewelled appearance. The leverback hooks are substantial and secure, typical of well-made vintage silverware.
Garnet has long been valued for its rich colour and supposed protective qualities—a stone associated with vitality and grounding. The restrained, classical style here suits both everyday wear and dressier occasions. The earrings show minor surface wear consistent with age and gentle use; the stones remain lustrous and free from chips. We recommend removing them before swimming or hot baths to preserve the silver patina, and storing them in a soft pouch to prevent rubbing.
