Soviet sterling silver ring with ruby Uk size O1/2
It would be nice to polish the stone.
About this piece
A substantial silver ring in the Soviet era style, featuring a deeply saturated ruby in an oval cut, bezel-set within a decorative filigree surround. The broad band showcases a textured openwork pattern characteristic of mid-century Eastern European metalwork, offering both weight and presence on the hand. In UK size O½, this is a statement piece that wears confidently.
The sterling silver retains good lustre with minimal surface wear. The ruby itself is vibrant, though as noted, the stone could benefit from a gentle polish to restore full brilliance—a simple clean with warm soapy water and soft cloth will help. The filigree detailing is crisp and well-defined, suggesting careful craftsmanship typical of Soviet jewellery-making. A handsome, wearable ring for everyday or special occasions, and robust enough to suit a variety of hand sizes within its range.
