Vintage Soviet Ruby Sterling silver ring Uk size K. there is no hallmark on this ring. I’ve tested both the metal and the stone. It’s Soviet-made, from the 1950s.
About this piece
A handsome Soviet-era ring from the 1950s, crafted in sterling silver with a deep burgundy ruby at its heart. The stone is set proud in a simple four-claw mount, flanked by twin ornamental shoulders worked in a fluid, organic style with small pavé-set accents catching the light. The broad band tapers slightly and shows the soft patina of careful wear over decades.
In UK size K, it wears as a substantial but wearable everyday piece. The metalwork bears no visible hallmark, though the silver has been tested and confirmed as sterling. The ruby is vivid and well-coloured; the overall condition is excellent, with only the gentle wear you’d expect from an heirloom kept and worn rather than locked away. A fine example of 1950s Soviet jewellery-making, when simple elegance met practical craftsmanship.
