Unusual Soviet ring with a wooden inlay, size O
About this piece
A striking Soviet-era ring with a modernist sensibility, featuring a bold oval face in deep blue inset into a textured silver body. The blue element appears to be a polished stone or resin rather than wood, set within a smooth surround, while the band itself displays a subtle linear pattern along the shoulders. The craftsmanship is assured and the proportions substantial without being heavy.
In UK size O, the ring sits comfortably as a statement piece suitable for everyday or occasional wear. The silver shows a light patina consistent with age and gentle use, while the blue retains its glossy finish and rich colour. The metal bears the characteristic slightly matte texture typical of Soviet jewellery of the mid-to-late twentieth century. We’d recommend a soft cloth for cleaning and occasional care with silver polish to maintain its subtle lustre.
