About this piece
A handsome pair of teardrop earrings in sterling silver, each centring a polished oval cabochon of deep green malachite. The stone is bezel-set within a gently curved silver surround that catches light beautifully. The design is restrained and elegant—characteristic of mid-century jewellery—letting the natural banding and lustre of the malachite speak for itself.
The silver shows the gentle patina of age and wear consistent with vintage pieces; the malachite remains glossy and well-preserved. These earrings lack the original fasteners, so you will need to source replacements—posts and butterfly backs are widely available and inexpensive to fit. A simple polish will restore brightness to the silver if desired. Malachite is relatively soft, so avoid prolonged contact with water or harsh cleaning products.
