Vintage USSR Gold Gilded 875 Silver Rim Cut Crystal Salt Cellar
About this piece
A delightful salt cellar from the Soviet era, combining clear cut crystal with a gilded silver rim. The crystal bowl features a geometric cutting pattern of deep, angular facets that catch the light beautifully, whilst the brass-coloured metal collar is stamped with neat linear detail. The silver rim is hallmarked 875, indicating Soviet-standard silver content—a mark of Soviet craftsmanship from the mid-20th century onwards.
Perfect for the vintage table or display cabinet, the cellar shows excellent wear overall with just the gentle patina of age on the gilt finish. The crystal remains clear and chip-free. A small spoon would typically accompany such pieces for serving. We recommend hand-washing gently and keeping the gilded rim away from prolonged moisture to preserve its finish.
