A stunning and authentic vintage Soviet silver ring handcrafted in the renowned village of Kubachi, famous for its rich silversmithing heritage.
Material & Hallmark: Crafted from solid 875 silver, featuring the original Soviet hallmark stamp and maker’s mark on the inner band.
Design & Technique: This wide, statement band showcases traditional Kubachi artistic techniques, featuring intricate hand-engraved botanical scrollwork contrasting against a deeply oxidized black niello background. The top and bottom edges are finished with a delicate geometric border.

About this piece
A striking wide-band ring from Kubachi, the celebrated silversmithing village in the Caucasus. Soviet-era craftsmanship: solid 875 silver with hand-engraved botanical scrollwork set against a deep black niello ground, bordered top and bottom with fine geometric detailing. The contrast between the polished silver lines and oxidised black creates a bold, graphic effect typical of mid-century Soviet jewellery design.
In UK size F, it sits as a substantial statement piece. The original Soviet hallmark and maker’s mark are stamped inside the band. The ring shows lovely natural patina and minor surface wear consistent with age and wear, with the niello surface retaining good depth. A fine example of traditional Caucasian metalwork technique, combining engraving and niello inlay in a design that feels both folk and modernist.
