Vintage sterling silver ring with a heavy domed face and flowing Art Nouveau–style scrollwork, deepened with oxidised patina. Cast, not stamped — crisp relief with soft polish wear on the high points from genuine wear.
Inside the band: a hand-punched bind rune maker’s mark, struck twice. A protective talisman motif rather than an assay mark.
The meaning behind the mark
Bind runes are single symbols woven from several runes at once — old Northern European charm-work, carried as protection rather than written as words. This one draws on Othala for home, kin and inheritance, Isa for the steady spine it’s built on, and Algiz for shelter and warding. Together they read as protection of home and lineage: a quiet charm struck on the inside of the band, worn against the skin where only the wearer knows it’s there. Whoever made this ring meant it to look after someone.

About this piece
A substantial cast-silver band with a domed face of interlocking scrollwork, deeply oxidised to show the crisp relief beneath. The design echoes Art Nouveau — organic, flowing curves that catch light and shadow beautifully. Cast rather than stamped, which gives it the weight and presence of a protective talisman.
Inside the band sits a bind rune, hand-punched twice: a Northern European charm combining Othala (home and lineage), Isa (steadying spine) and Algiz (shelter and warding). This is worn-against-skin protection, a quiet intention struck where only the wearer would ever see it. The silver shows genuine wear on the high points — soft polish loss and patina consistent with years of faithful wear. In UK size R, it sits with presence on the hand.
