925 Sterling Silver Vintage Real Marcasite Gemstone
Ring UK J 1/2 ()
About this piece
A charming piece from 1990s Ukraine, this ring showcases the distinctive sparkle of genuine marcasite — an iron sulphide mineral that catches light like faceted pyrite. The teardrop-shaped face is densely paved with marcasite stones, each precisely cut and set into sterling silver with a neat beaded border. The band is plain and sturdy, sitting comfortably in UK size J½.
Marcasite jewellery enjoyed particular popularity during the Art Deco revival of the late twentieth century, and this ring exemplifies that enduring style: geometric, sophisticated, and eye-catching without ostentation. The finish shows authentic vintage wear consistent with regular wear — a soft patina across the band that only enhances its character. Marcasite is reasonably robust but benefits from gentle care: avoid prolonged contact with perfume or moisture, and store it separately to prevent scratching.
