An incredibly beautiful vintage ring with black onyx, size R, sterling silver.
About this piece
A striking statement ring set with a polished black onyx cabochon cut into an elegant elongated oval. The stone is framed by an ornate sterling silver surround of scrolled, openwork design—characteristic of folk or vintage silverwork, with delicate curved loops forming a scalloped edge that draws the eye inward to the jet-black stone.
In UK size R, the ring sits generously on the hand, making it ideal for those with larger fingers or for layering with other pieces. The sterling silver shows the subtle patina of age and wear, which adds authenticity and character; the stone itself remains lustrous and unmarked. The openwork setting allows light to play through the silver, creating an interplay between the warm metal and the deep, glossy black of the onyx. A versatile piece that works equally well as an everyday statement ring or for formal occasions.
