A striking geometric ring in sterling silver, featuring a bold shield-shaped face with an interlocking lattice or net pattern worked in openwork. The design is distinctly modernist, characteristic of Soviet jewellery from the mid-to-late twentieth century, when spare, graphic forms were favoured over ornament. The broad, tapered shoulders of the band give it presence and stability on the hand.
