A charming pair of heart-shaped stud earrings combining lustrous mother of pearl with striking marcasite pave work. The design splits each heart vertically: one half a smooth, milky dome of mother of pearl, the other densely set with marcasite’s characteristic metallic sparkle. The marcasite half is framed with a neat beaded border that catches the light beautifully.

Marcasite jewellery enjoyed particular popularity from the 1920s onwards, prized for its crisp geometric contrast and affordable glamour. These earrings sit comfortably as studs with what appears to be a secure post-and-butterfly fastening. The condition is excellent: the mother of pearl shows its natural lustre without chips, and the marcasite settings remain bright and intact.
