Vintage Unique Sterling Silver Wedgwood Black Jasperware Cameo Ring Size J
About this piece
A captivating marriage of craftsmanship: fine sterling silver set with a Wedgwood black jasperware cameo depicting a seated figure in classical white relief. The oval stone, approximately 18 × 13 mm, is framed by a delicate beaded border that catches the light beautifully. The substantial yet elegant band tapers slightly, sized at UK I½, and the whole piece carries the weight and presence of jewellery made to last.
Wedgwood cameos have long been prized by collectors and jewellers for their timeless elegance and durability. This ring exemplifies mid-twentieth-century taste, when vintage cameos experienced a fashionable revival. The black jasperware — a ceramic body stained throughout with cobalt oxide — resists chipping better than painted glass or shell cameos, making it an excellent choice for everyday wear. The silver shows light patina consistent with age and gentle use; a soft cloth and warm soapy water will restore its lustre whenever you wish.
