Nepali Tribal Tibetan Turquoise Red
Coral Lapis Lazuli Pendant 1.5
About this piece
A hand-crafted pendant in the Nepali tribal tradition, combining turquoise, red coral, lapis lazuli and gilt brass in a symmetrical, richly decorated design. The oval face features a central vertical axis with a deep blue lapis stone flanked by smaller turquoise rounds, all set within an ornate brass frame embellished with granulation and beaded wire borders. Red coral cabochons sit in the upper corners, with warm orange enamel plaques completing the composition.
The craftsmanship is distinctly Himalayan: each stone is individually set into hand-formed brass cells, and the dotted texturing around the perimeter is typical of Tibetan and Nepali metalwork. The piece shows honest wear to the gold plating and minor surface patina consistent with age and gentle use. It hangs from a brass loop and would suit a 2–3mm chain or cord. A striking example of folk-inspired jewellery combining natural stone with traditional techniques.
