Stunning earrings
About this piece
A pair of elegant drop earrings in oxidised silver, each featuring a distinctly Art Deco sensibility. The design comprises a tapered upper bail set with a geometric marcasite pattern, from which hangs a pear-shaped teardrop frame outlined in two concentric rows of tiny marcasite stones. The hollow construction keeps them notably lightweight, ideal for comfortable all-day wear.
The marcasite work is crisp and well-defined throughout, with the characteristic dark silvery lustre of the mineral catching light beautifully. The condition is excellent: the settings are secure, the patina consistent, and there is no visible damage to the stonework. A small amount of surface tarnish on the silver is consistent with age and adds to their authentic vintage character. These earrings will suit both formal occasions and everyday styling, and require only occasional gentle polishing to maintain their lustre.
