Vintage Sterling silver cross
About this piece
A classically proportioned crucifix cast in sterling silver, featuring a deeply modelled corpus figure and textured cross arms. The reverse is inscribed with Cyrillic text—a common devotional feature on Russian Orthodox and Eastern European crosses of the mid-twentieth century. The piece shows fine detail throughout: the figure is rendered with clear anatomical definition, and the cross face bears a subtle grainy finish that enhances its visual weight.
Well-kept for its age, the silver retains good lustre with only light surface wear consistent with gentle wear. The integral loop at the crown is sturdy and ready for a chain or cord. This is a substantial, dignified pendant suited to those with faith connections, or collectors of ecclesiastical metalwork and Soviet-era devotional pieces.
