Late Soviet sterling silver ring, size U, with a pearl and various gemstones.
About this piece
A striking sculptural ring from the late Soviet era, crafted in sterling silver with a lustrous pearl as its centrepiece. The design features an elegant asymmetrical frame reminiscent of a stylised leaf or flame, adorned with four small faceted stones — likely citrine or champagne-coloured gems — set into the silver petals. The pearl, creamy white and well-lustred, sits nestled within the open geometric form, creating a sense of movement and modernity typical of mid-to-late twentieth-century Eastern European jewellery.
In UK size U, the ring balances proportion and presence on the hand. The silverwork shows good definition throughout, with clean lines and thoughtful negative space that allows light to play across the piece. Surface wear is minimal and consistent with gentle wear over decades. To care for it, we recommend occasional gentle cleaning with a soft cloth and mild soapy water; avoid harsh chemicals or vigorous polishing that might compromise the patina or the pearl’s delicate surface.
