About this piece
A charming set of six Soviet-made buttons from the 1960s, each cast in silvery metal with a cheerful daisy or sunflower relief. The design is crisp and detailed: flowers radiate outward across a slightly domed, circular face, with two or four functional holes positioned for stitching. The finish has developed the soft, warm patina of age — some buttons show darker toning in the recesses, whilst others retain a brighter surface, all consistent with honest wear and storage over six decades.
These buttons speak to Soviet manufacturing efficiency and folk-inspired design sensibility. The metalwork is sturdy, the casting clean, and each button sits at a comfortable diameter for use on coats, jackets, cardigans or heavier garments. Collectors of Soviet-era textiles, costume history and vintage haberdashery will recognise them as genuine period stock. They remain entirely functional and ready to be restored to a garment or kept as a decorative or historical grouping.
