About this piece
This beautiful Orthodox crucifix combines traditional iconography with fine silversmithing. The front depicts Christ crucified with a halo, framed by the inscriptions ЦРЬ СЛАВЫ (“King of Glory”) and IНЦІ, whilst the ІС ХС monogram marks the cross arms. Golgotha appears at the foot. The trefoil-ended arms bear classical ornamental detail, with oxidised shading to enhance the relief work.
The reverse is inscribed with the prayer «Спаси и Сохрани» (“Save and Protect”), encircled by delicate floral patterning. Crafted from 925 sterling silver and hallmarked with the Russian kokoshnik assay mark, it measures 3 cm in length and weighs 1.82 g. The piece shows its age gracefully—surfaces are patinated and worn in keeping with regular devotional use. Best worn on a chain of your choosing; we recommend storing it away from moisture and polishing gently with a soft cloth to maintain the contrast between bright silver and oxidised detail.
