Vintage Oval Abalone Bangle.
About this piece
A striking bangle featuring a large oval cabochon of abalone shell set in a silver-toned metal frame. The iridescent blue-green surface of the stone catches the light beautifully, revealing the characteristic play of colour that makes abalone so prized. The bangle is constructed from two parallel curved bands that meet at the stone setting, creating an elegant, slightly sculptural silhouette.
The piece shows honest wear consistent with vintage use — light surface marks and patina to the metal bands suggest it has lived a full life. The stone itself remains vibrant and intact, with no chips or cloudiness. This is a versatile piece that works equally well as an everyday statement or layered with other bangles, and the open-sided construction means it will fit most wrist sizes comfortably.
