About this piece
This is an official Soviet attestation booklet from 1981, honouring achievement in the Communist Labour movement. The red faux-leather cover features gilt tooling: a hammer and sickle emblem at top, and the Cyrillic title “Ударник Коммунистического Труда” (Shock Worker of Communist Labour) in a decorative border below. The cover shows gentle creasing and minor wear consistent with age and use.
Inside, the booklet contains a formal certificate page signed and dated, with the recipient’s details and workplace recorded in manuscript. The left page bears the iconic Soviet labour emblem and a printed pledge beginning “Мы придём в победе коммунистического труда” (We shall triumph in the victory of Communist labour), beneath which appears a signature, possibly that of an official witness. These booklets were awarded to workers who exceeded production quotas and demonstrated outstanding dedication—a significant honour within Soviet workplace culture. The condition is excellent for its age, with vibrant colour and legible gilt lettering throughout.
