Screw-Back Holder
About this piece
A Soviet-era military badge honouring graduates of the Academy of Military Medicine. The diamond-shaped pin features a bold red enamel field beneath a gilt Soviet state emblem, with a small torch symbol in gold beneath — representing the passing of medical knowledge and duty. The reverse shows a screw-back fastening mechanism, typical of Soviet institutional badges from the Cold War period.
The enamelling is vibrant and well-preserved, with minimal loss or chipping visible. The gilt finish remains bright. This badge would have been awarded upon graduation or completion of advanced medical training within the Soviet armed forces, making it a meaningful piece of Soviet military history and professional achievement. A fine example of mid-century Soviet badge manufacture.
