About this piece
A Soviet-era edition of the Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels, published in 1952 by Госполитиздат (State Political Literature Publishing House). The cover bears the authors’ names in red Cyrillic lettering above the title “Манифест коммунистической партии” — Manifesto of the Communist Party — with a small red star centred below.
The book shows honest wear consistent with its age and use: the cream cloth cover is creased and soiled, the spine is rubbed, and the interior pages bear library stamps and handwritten annotations, including shelf marks. The binding remains secure. This is a working copy from the early Soviet period, a tangible artefact of mid-20th-century Russian publishing and political history. Store in a dry place away from direct light to prevent further deterioration of the paper.
