About this piece
This is a complete Soviet officer’s belt and shoulder strap ensemble from 1972, a period piece of genuine militaria. The strap runs diagonally across the chest in the formal Sam Browne style, connecting via brass D-rings and a sprung hook to the main belt. Both components are cut from thick dark brown leather with contrasting orange stitching throughout — a hallmark of Soviet military manufacture. The solid brass roller buckle shows the even patina of age, and all metalwork remains fully functional.
The reverse carries original Cyrillic factory markings and inspection stamps, confirming its provenance and June 1972 manufacturing date. Remarkably, this has never been worn; the leather is firm and clean, without creasing or stress marks. Over the decades it has aged gracefully, developing a subtle warmth to the finish. Today it serves equally well as a collector’s piece of Cold War history or as a bold, authentic vintage accessory — the weight and construction speak to serious military craftsmanship.
