About this piece
This double-sided cross unfolds the spiritual narrative of Orthodox devotion. The front depicts Christ Pantocrator as “King of Glory” — the merciful judge — flanked by two mourning figures, with St Nicholas the protector below. The reverse shows the Mother of God in her role as protector, holding aloft the sacred veil (the Pokrova), an image of intercession and divine shelter deeply rooted in Russian Orthodox tradition.
Cast in solid sterling silver with a dark oxidised finish that emphasises the relief detail, the cross carries maker’s mark and hallmark on a generous bail suitable for chains or cords.
