Lovely vintage brooch by Miracle (A. Hill & Co, Birmingham), signed “MIRACLE” on the reverse banner.
Classic Scottish design: five cream and caramel swirled glass cabochons, imitating banded agate, set in prongs around a central flower. The antiqued silver-tone frame is decorated with thistles and leaves, with a textured open-work border.

Condition: good vintage condition, all stones present and secure. Some wear to the patina and light surface marks, as expected for its age (see photos).
About this piece
This is a classic mid-century Scottish design from Miracle, the jewellery maker A. Hill & Co of Birmingham — the maker’s name is signed on the reverse banner. Five cream and caramel swirled glass cabochons, each cut to imitate banded agate, are set in prongs around a central layered flower motif. The antiqued silver-tone frame is enriched with thistles and leaves, and features a textured open-work border that catches the light beautifully.
Dating from the 1960s–70s, it is crafted in base metal rather than precious silver, typical of the period’s Scottish jewellery exports. The pin and C-clasp are secure and working smoothly. The cabochons are all present and held firmly. As expected of a brooch in its sixties, the patina shows gentle wear and light surface marks; these only add to its authentic vintage character. A sturdy, well-made piece that wears comfortably on jacket, coat or dress.
