The colour work is notably detailed: the tail transitions from golden amber through crimson red; the back slopes through lime green to purple at the haunches; the underside is a rich cobalt blue, with gilt-metal limbs and head catching the light. The creature’s eyes are set with dark stones, giving it an alert, characterful expression.

Enamelling of this quality suggests mid-twentieth-century production, though the maker remains unconfirmed from the visible markings.
