Vintage pins Baltic
About this piece
A collection of Soviet-era pins and badges, predominantly brass or gold-plated, spanning themes from tourism and cultural landmarks to civic emblems and sporting achievement. The pins range from circular medallions to shield and geometric shapes, many featuring bright enamel detail in turquoise, red and cream. Several bear Cyrillic text or heraldic imagery; one circular badge reads “Leninunskij Eugenii” — a Soviet sports or civic honour.
These pieces date from the Soviet period and reflect the era’s enthusiastic culture of collectible badges, awarded or sold at tourist sites, factories, youth organisations and sporting events. Most retain good enamel and definition; wear is light and commensurate with display and use. They are best stored in a dry place away from moisture, which can tarnish the base metal. Ideal for collectors of Soviet memorabilia, Cold War ephemera, or those drawn to the graphic boldness and bright enamel work characteristic of mid-to-late Soviet manufacturing.
