Lot of vintage Soviet badges
About this piece
A substantial collection of Soviet-era badges and pins, spanning commemorative, architectural and regional themes. The lot includes enamel work on brass and base-metal bodies with pin fastenings, most retaining vibrant original colours. Notable pieces feature turquoise and gold enamel, Cyrillic inscriptions, and imagery ranging from civic monuments to flora (a Kiev pin with stylised flower motif). One piece is mounted as a pendant on a chain, with a pale green circular enamel face depicting a vintage bicycle or early motor-vehicle.
These badges represent a tradition of Soviet state commemoration and local pride, typically gifted or worn to mark visits, achievements or membership. The enamel surfaces show expected wear consistent with age and handling — some showing minor scratches or colour fading — yet the majority remain in excellent condition with crisp detailing. The mixed quality of preservation across the lot suggests varied storage and use over decades. Individual pins and backs are largely intact, making these pieces wearable or displayable as originally intended.
