A pair of traditional Baoding balls in warm mustard yellow, hand-painted with red and black decorative motifs depicting stylised figures and foliate patterns. The spheres are smooth and glossy, suggesting a lacquered finish typical of authentic Chinese craftsmanship. They arrive in their original fitted presentation box lined with green silk.

Baoding balls have been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine and meditation practice. Rotating them gently in the palm encourages circulation, promotes relaxation and is said to aid focus and concentration. The subtle chiming sound produced by the internal chimes becomes softer as you warm to using them. These show pleasing patina from use — minor surface wear consistent with age and handling — yet remain in good working order. Store in the original box between uses, and simply wipe clean with a soft cloth.
