About this piece
This charming lot brings together four distinctive brooches spanning the mid-century to 1970s era. The BSK maple leaf is the star: a brushed gold-tone piece with fine veining detail, marked ©BSK on the reverse. BSK, the American costume jewellery house active from the 1950s onwards, was known for naturalistic designs and reliable construction—this brooch shows both hallmarks, with a secure pin mechanism and only light wear to its textured surface.
The companion pieces each tell their own story. The round Connemara marble brooch speaks to Irish craft tradition, its soft green clouded stone set simply in a metal frame. The textured gold-tone scarf clip or dress brooch of the 1970s carries rhinestone accents for added glamour, while the two-tone knot brooch—silver and gold intertwined—echoes Art Deco geometry through a more modern lens. All four fastenings remain functional. The set shows honest pre-loved wear consistent with age and use, with no original box.
